Warning

by Tony Pirog

Since you are reading this, there a distinct possibility that you are hot for God and are seeking greater enlightenment. Please allow me to take the liberty of sharing my Internet experiences with you.

I was/am a young Christian, desperate to serve the Lord and to receive as much teaching as I could find. I read books, attended sermons, surfed the web, and worst of all, I developed online relationships with what appeared at first to be blessed, loving, spirit-filled Christians.

The problem? We are all aware of sexual predators on the Internet. What we do not all realize is that there are also predators out there who call themselves Christians! These are described in Ephesians 4:14 "Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming." These people present themselves as joyful, gentle, loving, faithful, men and women of God. But.... once they have gained your trust, they then become condemning and judgmental, invoking the Lord's curses and wrath upon you.

I have now had 3 experienced with these kind of person and had such a huge fear instilled in me that I thought I would go mad. I was told that:

  1. My words are a stench in God's nostrils.
  2. I am in league with the devil.
  3. I am cursed by God.
  4. I am to lose everything, everything.

All this came from 3 different people, all of whom appeared to be so gentle and loving.

Jesus talks of these people in Matthew 7:15-23. I quote from the NIV Bible:

Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. Not everyone who says to me, `Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, `Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, `I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers'.

Romans 14:13 says: "Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way."

Romans 8:1-2 says: "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death."

Romans 5:1-2 says: "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God."

Finally, Romans 6:14 says: "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace."

Friends, brothers, sisters:

Stand in this knowledge. You are justified by faith through grace by the blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 3:20-24 (NIV):

"Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin. But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus."

ALL your sins are forgiven! Let no one EVER allow you to waver from this knowledge.

My Advice: Keep away from relationships with Internet Christians who believe it is their mandate from God to guide or mentor you. These people are dangerous!!!

May the peace and love of the lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
