Fear Not

by Charles H. Spurgeon

"Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel." Isaiah 41:14 (KJV)

Today listen to the Lord Jesus speak. "I will help you. It is a small thing for Me, your God, to help you. Consider what I have already done. What! Not help you! I bought you with My own blood. What! Not help you! I died for you. Since I have done the greater, will I not do less?

"Before the world began I chose you. I made a covenant for you. I laid aside my glory and became a man for you. Since I did all this, then I will surely help you now. In helping you I am giving you what has already been purchased. If you needed a thousand times as much help, I would give it! Your requests are nothing compared with what I am willing to give. You need much, but it is nothing for Me to grant your needs. Help you? Fear not! I will help you.

Is this not enough? Do you need more strength than the omnipotence of the United Trinity? Do you need more wisdom than exists in the Father? Do you need more love than is displayed in the Son? Do you need more power than is manifest in the Spirit? Bring your empty pitcher! This well will fill it easily. Hurry! Gather your wants, your emptiness, your woes, your needs, and bring them here. See! This river of God is full to meet your needs. What else do you need? Oh My soul, go forward in His strength. The eternal God is your Helper:

Fear not I am with thee,
Oh be not dismayed;
I, I am thy God,
And will still give thee aid.
