What Is Your Favorite Book?

"Sanctify them through Thy truth: Thy word is truth."

I am reminded of a familiar story my pastor used to tell. He was invited to a church family's home for coffee. The parents thought they would impress the pastor by asking their child to get their favorite book. The book the child brought was the TV Guide. The parents were really embarrassed.

My question to you is this: What is your favorite book? The TV Guide or the Bible? Which book do you read the most? Of course, the TV Guide doesn't offer any spiritual truth, but the Bible does. I am not saying without exception that watching TV is bad for you, but if you watch TV more than getting into God's Word, you will become spiritually weak.

In your bookshelf there may be a dusty Bible. Remove the book and blow the dust off. You'll be surprised what truths lie behind the cover that can strengthen your faith in Christ.
