Getting Even

Luke 23:34 (KJV)
"Then said Jesus: 'Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.'"

While I was waiting to merge into traffic, an impatient driver honked her horn at me. Instead of getting upset, I thought of Jesus forgiving His trespassers as He hung upon the cross. As she sped by me, I noticed a WWJD sign in the back window of her car. Hmm, I thought, she definitely didn't follow that motto; otherwise, she wouldn't have honked at me. She would have been patient just like Jesus.

So, the next time someone honks at you, or cuts you off in traffic, don't try to get even. At that moment reflect on Jesus' love for you as He endured the old, rugged, cross.
