Living Godly in Christ Jesus

2 Timothy 3:12 (NASB)
"Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted."

All true born again believers and even non-Christians are noticing a moral shift in our society. As a Christian, I think a lot about persecution, and it frightens me. I have read countless stories of what our brothers and sisters are experiencing on a daily basis. In relatively comfortable America, we don't have to suffer as much for the Gospel as others do in many places around the world.

But the Lord warned us that the world will hate you (John 15:18). He also told us that all who seek to live for God will suffer persecution. We need to ask ourselves, are we watering down the Gospel too much? If so, we're doing our Lord a terrible disservice, since He suffered so much for us on the cross. We need to pray for the Spirit to give us the fiery words of the Gospel, so people will ask us, "What must I do to be saved?"
