True Christianity

Revelation 12:11 (KJV)
"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."

As believers in Jesus Christ, in these last days, the only way to counterattack the enemy is by the blood of Jesus Christ and knowing who we are in Christ by our testimony. I want to focus mainly on the last portion of this verse, that is, "they loved not their lives unto the death." I don't know about you, but with persecution against Christians on the rise all over the world it helps me consider how willing I am ready to lay it all down for Christ.

Have you ever read Foxe's Book of Martyrs? I have only been able to read one chapter, and it was so awful I had to put it down. Reading about the persecution the early Christians had to endure made my skin crawl. How much do we really love Jesus? He laid down His life so that we could have eternal life. With God's help, we can be faithful to Jesus unto death, as the servant is not greater than the Master. Christians in America are so comfortable that "cushy" Christianity has become the order of the day. I've been struggling with this. I have to be brutally honest with you, as I'm cushy along with many other Christians in America. But I want to be stronger in this area of suffering persecution for Christ's sake.

We must die to our desires and let Christ reign supreme in our hearts, and allow the Holy Spirit to mold us, so that when the day of persecution comes we'll be ready. For all that seek to live godly in Christ Jesus will, not maybe, suffer persecution (2 Timothy 3:12). I know this isn't easy, but Jesus keep us true unto the end in your precious name we pray. Amen!
