A question I have is this: Why does EGW say that the Sabbath is the seal of God when the Bible indicates that the Holy Spirit is? EGW says: The sign, or seal, of God is revealed in the observance of the seventh-day Sabbath, the Lord's memorial of creation" Testimonies for the Church, vol. 8, p. 117 "...Too late they see that the Sabbath of the fourth commandment is the seal of the living God" The Great Controversy, p. 640 The Bible says: "And you were also included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, YOU WERE MARKED in him WITH A SEAL, THE PROMISED HOLY SPIRIT, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession, to the praise of his glory" Ephesians 1:13-14 NIV (emphasis added) "Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is GOD, who also SEALED US and GAVE US THE SPIRIT IN OUR HEARTS as a pledge" 2 Corinthians 1:21, 22 (emphasis added) "And grieve not THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD, WHEREBY YE ARE SEALED unto the day of redemption." Ephesians 4:30 (emphasis added) Why do the words of EGW contradict the Bible on this issue? ______________________________________________________________________________ Rolaant McKenzie Read an interesting book for free! --> The Sabbath, the Law, and the Gospel slgtitle.html |
