Subject: Paul and Sabbathkeeping

You ask on your site:

"What did Paul teach in regard to Sabbath keeping?"

Your answer:

"There therefore remaineth a keeping of Sabbath (margin) to the people
of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from
his own works as God did from His." Hebrews 4:9-10.

My comments:

Actually, what Hebrews 4:9-10 says is this:

NASB
"So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who
has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did
from His."

KJV
"There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is
entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did
from his."

NIV
"There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone
who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his."

RSV
"So then, there remains a sabbath rest for the people of God; for whoever
enters God's rest also ceases from his labors as God did from his."

Why does your quote of Heb 4:9-10 insert the words "keeping of Sabbath"
in the text? What margin in what Bible do you make reference to? Changing
what the Scriptural text says to support your theory weakens your case
rather than strengthens it.

But back to the question:

What did Paul teach in regard to Sabbath keeping?

What Paul actually taught in the Bible:

Romans 14:4-5 (NASB)
"Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he
stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
One person regards one day above another, another regards every day
alike. EACH PERSON MUST BE FULLY CONVINCED IN HIS OWN MIND."

Galatians 4:9-11 (NASB)
"But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God,
how is it that you turn back again to the weak and worthless elemental
things, to which you desire to be enslaved all over again? YOU OBSERVE
DAYS and months and seasons and years. I fear for you, that perhaps I have
labored over you in vain."

Colossians 2:16-17 (NASB)
"Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or
in respect to a festival or a new moon or a SABBATH DAY -- things which
are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ."

May the Lord bless your study.

SDA: "Why do you keep only 9 of the commandments, disregarding the
Sabbath? Can you show me one passage of Scripture where the Sabbath was
changed to Sunday?"

Christian: "I 'keep' all the commandments, thank you, not just ten. Can
you show me one verse in the Bible that commands Gentile Christians to
observe the Sabbath?
